Quiet Storm is one of the first agencies to publicly demonstrate a commitment to having a positive social impact.

Quiet Storm has certified as a B Corp, one of the first creative agencies to join a pioneering group of UK ad agencies that are publicly demonstrating a commitment to having a positive social impact.

Recent attention on the advertising industry’s diversity and inclusion issues, as well as its environmental impact, makes Quiet Storm’s B Corp certification a notable step, signalling a shift towards greater accountability and transparency in the advertising sector.

Certified businesses must meet rigorous social and environmental standards that very few mainstream players in the advertising community have so far been able to reach. There are currently around 900 companies in the UK and 5,500 globally who have certified as B Corps, including notable clients such as Danone, The Guardian, The Body Shop, Abel & Cole and Patagonia – but still very few ad agencies.

B Corps sets a high bar for verification of a company’s performance, accountability, and transparency, based on its commitment to good governance, its workforce, customers, wider community and the environment.

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, said, “Business is a powerful force and B Corps demonstrate that you can do good in any sector. Welcoming Quiet Storm is an exciting moment because they have an opportunity to lead the way within the advertising industry. We and the rest of the B Corp community are really pleased to support Quiet Storm in paving the way for a new way of doing things”.

Jon Howard, planning director and partner from Quiet Storm said, “B Corp is fast becoming the gold standard for the wider business community, as ESG considerations become ever more important in the boardroom. Quiet Storm passed the B Corp threshold more than comfortably, but in many ways, we got to that position organically and instinctively. Being part of the B Corp family will now help us to move forward in a more intentional way.”

Rania Robinson, CEO and partner of Quiet Storm adds, “Business can no longer be done in isolation of the impact we have on the wider world. That’s why our purpose is to positively transform businesses, lives and society.”

Quiet Storm is renowned for the diversity and inclusion work it does via its not-for-profit initiative, Create Not Hate, which supports young people who are underrepresented in the creative industry unlock their potential. Quiet Storm also takes an industry leading position on green production, and its commitment to the principles of Ad Net Zero are a part of bigger sustainability commitments to ensure it is reducing any negative impact it has.
