With experience at BBDO, Chiat, and BBH, duo delivers 'creative firepower' for quench clients

Food and beverage advertising and marketing agency quench has hired Brian Locascio and Josh Cannon as executive creative directors, president and CEO Michael Pavone announced today.

quench and its holding company, Pavone Marketing Group (PMG), have offices in Philadelphia, Atlanta, New York and Harrisburg, Pa. Locascio and Cannon will work primarily from the Atlanta office.

In their new roles, Locascio and Cannon will enhance the shop’s overall creative, assist with new business development, and oversee work for a variety of clients, including Sun-Maid, StarKist and Herr’s. The pair will also lead creative efforts at PMG’s restaurant and hospitality marketing agency, Vigor, and at Market Street Trust Design Co., which specializes in packaging, logos, branding and web design.

“We work with iconic American brands, and when you work with brands on that level, you need to support them with strong creative firepower. That’s what Brian and Josh deliver,” said Pavone. “We also know—especially in the COVID era—that the CPG category demands attention-grabbing work. Our new creative leadership will help us deliver that breakthrough work.”

When asked what attracted them to an independent agency like quench, both Locascio and Cannon agreed that quench’s status as a rapidly growing, independent agency with a roster of high-profile food and beverage clients made the decision easier.

Locascio previously spent time at award-winning agencies BBDO, Wieden+Kennedy, FCB, and Goodby Silverstein & Partners. At BBDO, he created the AT&T “Hands” campaign that gained international recognition, being recognized at Cannes and named “Campaign of the Year” by the Kelly Awards.

Cannon was most recently creative director at Coca-Cola’s in-house agency, where he worked on the relaunch of Coca-Cola’s iconic Times Square billboard, a Guinness World Record-holder for the largest robotic sign in the world. He has held the titles of global creative director, creative director, associate creative director, and writer at Pyro, Modernista!, Chiat and BBH. He also spent time at BBDO, where he was a lead creative with Locascio on the AT&T “Hands” campaign.

Throughout the years, Locascio’s and Cannon’s work has been recognized by One Show, Cannes, Communication Arts, D&AD, London International, and the Emmy Awards.
