Pulse Films' New Series 'Twiz and Tuck' to Air on VICELAND US

Leading global content studio Pulse Films today announced that its upcoming unscripted series, Twiz and Tuck, will air on VICELAND US on March 27th, before rolling-out across the youth-focused TV network internationally.

The six-part documentary series is part of Pulse Film’s on-going partnership to produce long form programming for the network internationally, and in addition to the raft of content deals already in place with VICE Media across online, digital and branded offerings.

Produced by Pulse Film’s Thomas Benski, Fred Grinstein, Elvira Lind & Nikki Calabrese, Twiz and Tuck is an immersive six-part docu-series following two best friends, on a bachelor party road trip to end all road trips, all told through the lens of being transgender and gender fluid. Contemplating their personal backstories along the way, as well as visiting places from their pre-transition past, Twiz and Tuck embark on a wild ride of adventures across America and take in all that’s weird and wonderful on the road; from getting choked by a Jiu Jitsu instructor, encountering ghosts in an old mining cemetery and riding a bull, to getting a "vampire facial."

Pulse Films CEO Thomas Benski commented; “I am super excited and proud that Twiz and Tuck is premiering on VICELAND. It’s precisely the kind of talked about content we love to make and marks the first of many premium series’ we’ll be making for them as part of our on-going relationship”.

"Fundamentally what makes any great TV show is interesting and fun characters - people you just want to watch,” said VICELAND President of Programming Nick Weidenfeld, adding “Pulse brought us Twiz and Tuck and they’re two of the most interesting and fun guys on television."

Coming together over a shared creative vision for innovative storytelling and production, VICE and Pulse first partnered in 2013 before solidifying the relationship in 2016 with VICE’s majority acquisition. In addition to helping VICE expand its linear production operations, the deal has allowed VICE to utilise Pulse’s formidable talent network to grow its original video offering across digital and mobile, plus explore new branded content opportunities - all underpinned by a shared pursuit of creative excellence.

Recent TV commissions for Pulse also include; Don’t Stop, a forthcoming 10-part series for Sky, Black Is The New Black (BBC Two) United States Of Hate (BBC One / BBC Three) and Who’s Spending Britain’s Billions? (BBC Two).

Twiz & Tuck is the latest new programming from VICELAND, following the network’s recent addition of James Van Der Beek starrer What Would Diplo Do? Under the direction of the channel’s Co-Presidents Guy Slattery and Derek Freda, additional flagship original shows include Gaycation with Ellen Page; Black Market with Michael K. Williams; and Woman with Gloria Steinem.
