Pulse Films has announced the hiring of Nnena Nwakodo as executive producer in its award-winning music videos division. In her central role within the division, Nwakodo will be responsible for the management and development of the studios directing talent across its music video roster, and signing new filmmakers into the studios ecosystem. She will report into Rik Green, head of music videos.

Nwakodo joins Pulse Films following her most recent position as a producer at advertising agency BBH.

Outside of her producer position, Nnena is also the co-founder of Unsigned, an exhibition and platform that promotes up and coming photographers, illustrators and filmmakers. The platform exists to promote and elevate the most exciting emerging talent from across the industry. It was established in response to her observation that advertising agencies were working with a small, elite handful of talent and not embracing untapped talent. Nnena’s ability to spot and nurture new talent resulted in Unsigned featuring over 80 artists since its launch in 2018.

Nnena Nwakodo commented: “I am beyond delighted to be joining the Pulse Films team after years of admiring the work coming out of the music video department. It's an incredible opportunity to unearth the next generation of exceptional talent and help them develop with industry-leading support and pedigree. I can't wait to get started and make some impactful, genre defying, culture-defining music videos!”

Rik Green, head of music videos added: “I am so thrilled to have Nnena join the Pulse Films music video team, having someone with her level of experience and impeccable eye for talent to help continue the growth and development of the division is incredibly exciting.”

Nnena joins Pulse Films following a record breaking year for the studio in which it was named Production Company of the Year by Campaign Magazine, the British Arrows, Shots, Little Black Book’s The Immortal Awards and topped Televisual’s Peer Poll. The studio also received two BAFTA Nominations for Mogul Mowgli including Outstanding British Film and two BAFTA TV nominations for its record-breaking series Gangs of London including Drama Series.
