Publicis•Poke has appointed Alison Hoad as its new chief strategy officer.

Hoad has been consulting for the past two years, working with commercial and not-for-profit sectors on growth strategy, brand strategy and digital transformation projects. Prior to this she was chief strategy officer at BBH London, where she helped the agency win the IPA Effectiveness Company of the Year title in 2018. She has a strong track record in delivering growth and innovation for creative agencies, and has helped build some of the world’s most iconic brands including Tesco, Virgin, Nike, Chanel, M&S and the BBC.

Alison Hoad, incoming chief strategy officer, Publicis•Poke, said: “I enjoyed running my own consultancy but being away from the industry made me appreciate what I most loved about it – the collective endeavour, the creativity, and the contagious energy that comes from cracking truly great, impactful work.

One of the things I’ve realised as a consultant is just how simple our business is. Fundamentally, to thrive it requires brilliant people, brilliant clients and brilliant ideas. I see all three at Publicis•Poke. I’m excited by John and Dave’s vision of a new era for the agency. I can’t wait to join the crew and contribute to this journey.”

John Hadfield, CEO, Publicis•Poke, said: “Alison is a proven world-class strategic and business leader, who has been around successful agencies and great and effective work throughout her career. I know that she has the ambition and energy to help build the next chapter for Publicis•Poke, our clients and our people.”

Before joining BBH, Hoad was at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R for nearly 12 years, latterly as joint CEO and Vice Chairman. Prior to that she was Founder and Managing Director of Campbell Doyle Dye, an Omnicom-backed creative boutique. This followed her stint at Lowe Lintas where she was Head of Strategic Planning, helping the agency to win Campaign Agency of the Year and Ad Age Agency of the Year. She was Head of Strategy and part of the management team that launched Wieden+Kennedy in London and was the youngest strategist to be promoted to the Board at Lowe Howard-Spink. Hoad started her career client-side at P&G, managing Ariel and Vidal Sassoon.

Hoad has had long-standing involvement in some of the industry’s most high-profile bodies. She is an IPA fellow and was the youngest ever Convenor of Judges for the IPA Effectiveness awards, she served on the IPA Council from 2017-2019, and is a member of WACL and MGGB.

Alison Hoad joins Publicis•Poke in April.
