Publicis Worldwide Achieves its Highest Ranking Yet for Cannes Lions

Publicis Worldwide has achieved the strongest results in its history in Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 2021, winning a total of 72 Lions, including five Grands Prix and its very first Titanium Lion.

Having landed its very first Cannes Grand Prix in 2019, Publicis Worldwide has gone on to achieve five more Grands Prix in 2021 and a Titanium Lion, the first in history for both the agency and client – Diesel.

Publicis Conseil is the number one ranking agency in its market for Cannes awards 2021, under the new leadership team, appointed in 2019, of Agathe Bousquet, Marco Venturelli and Alexandra Evan. The agency was awarded its first Grand Prix with long-standing client Renault and further picked up 11 Lions, including three Gold, three Silver and five Bronze.

Publicis Italy is the second-ranked agency globally across the industry and the number one ranking agency in its market for Cannes awards 2021. Under the leadership of Bruno Bertelli and Cristiana Boccassini, Publicis Italy won 30 Lions including - for the first time in its history - one Titanium Lion with Diesel, 'Enjoy Before Returning', and one Grand Prix with Heineken, 'Shutter Ads'. Publicis Italy was also ranked seventh in the last edition of 'WARC Creative 100'.

Titanium

  • Enjoy Before Returning, Diesel, Publicis Italy – Titanium: Going for the night in an outfit you’ll return the next morning? We know everyone does it — it’s a rising trend, and most fashion brands struggle with how to handle it. Not Diesel though that introduces a new campaign with a clear message to those already thinking of “wardrobing” the new collection: Enjoy Before Returning. If shoppers are going to buy, wear and return an item anyway, why not fully enjoy it in the process? That’s successful living.


Grand Prix

  • Act for Food – Carrefour, France – Creative Business Transformation: Carrefour’s Act For Food, a global transformative program to enable its clients and employees to eat better, everywhere, at an affordable price, with a vision to becoming the world leader in food transition.

  • Shutter Ads – Heineken, Publicis Italy – Outdoor: A campaign that helped your favourite bar to “reopen tomorrow, respecting distances today", a message that appeared on the shutters of bars globally, an invitation promoted by HEINEKEN Italy to maintain correct behaviour in order to guarantee possibility to return, to their favourite bars. 

  • The Electric Village – Renault, Publicis Conseil (France) – Outdoor: Renault inaugurated the first “100% electric vehicle” town in France by providing each household with a New Renault ZOE. The unprecedented initiative aims to demonstrate that if the move to electric is possible in Appy, it is possible everywhere.

  • Moldy Whopper – Burger King, Publicis Spain / Romania – Outdoor: The campaign, showed what happens if a Whopper is left out on a table for more than a month. Spoiler alert: It spoils. It underscores the chain’s decision to eliminate artificial preservatives from its food.

  • #StillSpeakingUp, Propuesta Civica, Publicis Mexico/Publicis Latvia – Grand Prix For Good: Javier Valdez, journalist and writer murdered in Culiacán, Sinaloa, “returns from the dead” to demand justice to Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Mexico’s Governors, within the framework of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists. The recognition for this work has placed Publicis Mexico and Publicis Latvia as number 1 ranked agencies within their respective markets.
