New Business Director & Head of Account Management join

Publicis London Makes Two Appointments

Publicis London has promoted its deputy heads of account management Sophie Payne and Trent Patterson to New Business Director and Head of Account Management respectively. Both roles are new, having previously been the remit of the agency’s executive management team.

Payne will report directly to CEO Karen Buchanan, working closely with the Publicis Group UK CMO Patrick Hanson-Lowe. In addition to her new business remit, she will continue to work as business director on clients including SMA.

Patterson will also continue to lead the global SCA Hygiene account, following Publicis’ appointment last month to its tissue and babycare business across 30 countries for brands including Plenty, Tempo, Libero, Drypers and Zewa. He was a lead member of the network team that pitched for the business in a global realignment that saw SCA consolidate its creative development.

CEO Karen Buchanan says: “Sophie and Trent are real stars and it is testament to the strength and depth of talent across Publicis today that we wanted to promote them into these key roles.”

Payne has been at Publicis London since 2009, working across brands including KP Snacks, Vicks EMEA and SMA. She joined from Grey London, where she worked across accounts including P&G Laundry and Haircare in EMEA. Previously, she was a Senior Account Manager at McCann Erickson in Birmingham and started her career in advertising at regional agency Palmer Hargreaves.

Patterson joined the agency in 2010 from JWT London, where he worked across brands and business including Nokia, Unilever, Cadbury and Corona. He started his career in Australia.
