Rio’s Paralympics games open today and will last 11 days. France Télévisions, in charge of the retransmission of the Rio’s Paralympics games, is launching a teaser in order to promote this event which brings together 126 disabled athletes in more than 23 sports.
As a reminder, in 2012 in London, the French delegation had assembled 45 medals, among which 8 in gold. The movie sets a series of empty sports venues, at night as after training.
A voice-over runs through the scenes, it is inner, it lives within every place. It recites, peacefully, the words of an athlete just before starting his trial, maybe allowing him to enter history. We slowly discover a disabled athlete coming out of a tunnel, heading for the stadium, his eyes filled with a determination that all athletes share.
The movie concept is simple : the Sport law, adrenaline, training, pressure, the stakes, are the same for everyone, whether we are a valid or handicapped athlete. Why make differences when sport has the magical ability to put everyone at the same level in front of one thing : excel ourselves and performance.
