Agency staffs up with director of strategy and two senior account directors

Lynn Sivec, Tim Binkley, Marjorie Mackenzie

Creative and integrated marketing agency Public Label has announced the appointment of three new senior hires in Canada over the past six months: Lynn Sivec as director of strategy; and Tim Binkley and Marjorie Mackenzie as senior account directors. The executives will work across Public Label’s Canadian client roster, which includes key clients such as  Scotts Miracle-Gro, Church & Dwight, Royal Canin, and a new assignment with Autism Canada. The team rounds out the Canadian Leadership of Public Label, along with Gary Westgate, VP, creative director and  Anne Dean, GM/SVP, marketing solutions.

“We are thrilled to have Lynn, Tim and Marjorie join our talented and growing team in Canada,” said Dean. “Lynn is passionate about uncovering insights and digging deep into culture to untap new opportunities for brands, while Tim and Marjorie are seasoned client leaders with trusted relationships and the ability to drive business results. Their collaborative and purpose-driven leadership is a perfect fit for our agency and will be invaluable to our clients in the months ahead.”

Lynn Sivec, director of strategy

Sivec joins the team from Public Inc, a Canadian social impact agency where, as senior director, client strategy, she worked with clients including Sephora, Canadian Mental Health Association and US Soccer Foundation. Sivec also held stints at Zig Inc., where she was a senior strategy planner working across agency clients such as Unilever and Best Buy; and Ogilvy & Mather, where she was group account director for IBM Worldwide, IBM Canada and Dove. She has worked on several campaigns which have been honoured with many prestigious awards including Cannes Lions.

An avid traveller and scuba diver, Sivec is excited for the days when the world opens up again so she can once again immerse herself in new cultures, cuisines and oceans.

Tim Binkley, senior account director

As an accomplished brand marketer and team leader at Fortune 500 companies and world-class creative agencies, Binkley applies his brand leadership skills to helping brands strengthen their performance and social impact. His career has spanned both agency and client-side, including roles at Leo Burnett, DDB Canada (Downtown Partners), Publicis, Dentsu and within the marketing team at RBC. During his career he has worked with a variety of major brands including P&G, Pillsbury, Coca-Cola, Minute Maid, Budweiser/Bud Light, Samsung and more. The brands he has managed have been recognized by nearly every major award show including Cannes Lions, One Show, London International, Marketing Awards Canada, Cassies Canada, Pinnacle Awards Canada and the USA Today Ad Meter (#1 Super Bowl commercial for Budweiser “Good Dog”).

Passionate about sports and the great outdoors, in his spare time Binkley enjoys ice hockey, downhill skiing and playing rugby with his two sons, a sport he discovered while living in Sydney for four years.

Marjorie Mackenzie, senior account director

Mackenzie is a passionate brand consultant with 20+ years’ experience working with retailers and national brands to develop and execute exceptional brand experiences. She has worked with some of North America's leading brands, across a variety of verticals, including RBC, Kraft, Mondelez International and P&G. Prior to Public Label, Mackenzie was senior director, design strategy at Astound Group where she utilized the cognitive sciences to inform design decisions and promote deep, unconscious connections between humans and brands. She worked with Google on developing a human-focused strategy for their presence at NRF, and also led brand strategies for new brands launching into the marketplace, particularly in the cannabis sector. Before that she was VP, retail at Figure3, one of Canada’s most distinguished interior design firms and earlier in her career held account management roles at Pigeon, Perennial Inc. and HMG Worldwide/HMG Griffith.

Marjorie loves being part of a team, both at work and on the field. An avid sports fan, she played 14 years of competitive rugby, then moved on to soccer before becoming a rugby coach.

The appointments come at a time of growth for Public Label following its relaunch in December and subsequent acquisition in March.
