Jonathan takes up the position of chief creative officer across the multi-discipline offering of brand, digital, experience and retail teams and joins CEO Sue Nisbet and chief client officer Cornelius Koelblin in now leading the Agency.
Jonathan joins from FCB in South Africa where he played a key regional and international role on numerous iconic brands among them Coca-Cola. From his appointment as youngest ever creative director to No.1 ECD, Loeries Awards creative performance ranking. Jonathan`s achievements include over 100 awards and a place on judging panels at Cannes, The One Show and the South African Loeries.
“Jonathan joined us on the eve of the lockdown and a raft of pitches. Challenging times, but he has undoubtably embedded a new level of ambition and creativity right across the Agency helping us transform data and insight into seamless, ground-breaking ideas”, says Sue Nisbet, the Proximity CEO.
Jonathan has long been a powerful advocate for new ways of thinking about how brands can interact with consumers today, with a conviction that strong ideas and iconic communication have a power to effect positive change.“Bold ideas and brave communication have the power to effect positive change without compromising sound commercial outcomes. We live in a biosphere where ideas need to be media agnostic and be brought to life recognising what is going on in the world and how it is affecting brands and consumers. Proximity is built on the idea of Connected Creativity, and that is exactly the principle I champion. I am thrilled to be leading a team of almost 150 creative minds, a diverse and talented group of people from across the globe who share that ambition.”
“I love working with Jonathan. Him joining us, and the influx of 30 plus new talents, reflects our terrific momentum evident in pitch wins and strong organic growth. We are set up for an exciting future”, says Cornelius Koelblin chief client officer.
