Today, PromaxBDA Europe announces the final sessions for the ‘Renaissance’ themed 2013 conference, which will be held in Paris on March 11 &12. Joining Europe’s largest gathering for professionals in the TV and entertainment industry are Tim Horwood (MTV Base Africa), who will showcase the surge of creativity coming out of Africa, and Luc Brabandere from the Boston Consulting Group. Brabandere will explain how ‘thinking in new boxes’, instead of ‘out of the box’ is a far more powerful approach to spur creativity.
‘Africa’s Renaissance’
Monday, 11 March: 10:15 - 11:00
Presented by Tim Horwood, award-winning Creative Director at MTV Base Africa.
Currently heading up the production and creative departments of MTV, MTV Base, Comedy Central, VH1 and Nickelodeon in Africa, Tim Horwood will present an inspiring session on the new contemporary African Renaissance.
Having worked on projects such as the successful drama series Shuga, focussing on HIV and AIDS, the youth empowerment series MTV Base Meets, the freeform comedy Stay off the Grass and The Big Friday Show, Nigeria’s biggest youth entertainment show, Horwood highlights the importance of music and multi-media in Africa’s Renaissance.
‘The Box: Eight Things You Need to Know About The Challenge of Creativity’
Monday, 11 March: 15:00 - 15:45
Presented by Luc de Brabandere, Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group, as well as Creative and Strategy Specialist.
The motto you hear often in the creative industry is ‘think outside the box’. After having spent years of his career trying to understand the essence of the box, Brabandere will share his vision on how bringing creativity to the next level is not so much about thinking outside of the box, but thinking in entirely new boxes. According to Brabandere, this will free the mind to think the unthinkable.
The PromaxBDA Europe conference and Awards take place on March 11 and 12 in the Hotel Marriot Rive Gauche in Paris. For the full conference program and tickets visit: www.promaxbda.org or follow us on Facebook at PromaxBDA or on Twitter.
