Welcomes associate producer Alissa Liebert

Production Company Twist Expands

Well-known national production company Twist has expanded and welcomed new Associate Producer Alissa Liebert. The announcement was made today by Twist Executive Producer Amyliz Pera, who is based in Manhattan. The Twist directorial roster currently features the diverse talents of Directors Matt Pittroff, Rich Michell, Chris Stocksmith and Marc André Debruyne. www.twistfilm.com

"Alissa is smart, energetic, detail-oriented, and fun to be around,” says Twist EP Amyliz Pera. “ She's the kind of person we wanted to find a place for at our company. Luckily, she's also experienced in a number of areas and has been able to jump right in to help us supervise the production department as Associate Producer. Her post/fx experience will serve to help us with solutions for our clients and vendors, and her great care and input offers additional continuity to our process. Twist President/EP Jim Geib and I have already felt the benefit of having her on our team, and many more things will be color-coded now that she's here."

Born and raised in Baltimore MD, Liebert started her career as most people in the industry do... an underpaid, overworked PA grateful to be on-set. This opportunity led to many others in her hometown, allowing her to work with various national and regional production companies and clients, including Twist’s own national Comedy Director Matt Pittroff. Feeling the drive to cover all aspects of the production process, she moved to New York working as Post Production Coordinator for Cosmo Street Editorial. There, she worked with clients such as BBDO, CP+B, BBH & TBWA/CHIAT/DAY.

Back in Baltimore, Liebert became the Supervising Post Producer for Cerebral Lounge, a boutique post house with offices in both Baltimore and Washington, DC. Top clients included National Geographic, Discovery, PBS, Sundance, TNT, & BRAVO. Overseeing three offices with up to 25 creatives and producers, she became a master at client relations, workflow, and creating a comfortable creative environment for her team. She learned quickly that each creative individual she worked with -- albeit a Director, Editor, or Designer -- required a different producing style, and to cater not only to her clients, but her team as well. “It's something that I think is very important and not always easy to do,” explains Liebert. “You have to learn how to produce in multiple ways; customize your workflow/attitude/involvement to the project. The creative need to trust you. They need to be comfortable no matter what -- and it's the producer's job to make sure of that."

Given the opportunity to produce work from broadcast commercials, to network promos, to animation, to visual effects, Liebert is able to collaborate and help execute a variety of end products -- something that is exciting to Twist as well. "The lines between practical and visual effects can become blurred so easily,” she says. “I'm excited to bring my knowledge of post into a think tank focused on production. There's no reason both sides can't get what they need out of the budget, while still delivering a dynamic visual to the viewer."

Excited to get back to her production roots, Liebert happily joins Twist as Associate Producer. "Twist boasts nationally acclaimed directors and creatives, but still emotes a family-style vibe,” Liebert concludes. “It's like hanging with the cool kids who don't care about being cool. EP/President Jim Geib and EP Amyliz Pera have so much knowledge, intuition, and strong ties with the production world, that I feel a little selfish I get work with them on a daily basis."

In addition to a new campaign for Mayo Clinic, Twist Director/DP Rich Michell has just finished a project for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, as well as spots for General Mills. Twist’s Matt Pittroff recently shot a fourth round of spots for Ameristar, and new spots for Rite Aid and Colorado Lottery. He is in the midst of shooting a campaign for 3M. Director Marc André Debruyne, named “Director of the Year” at the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards, has completed a number of new music videos, as well as a project for Coke and a campaign for Nestle, shot in Manila. Twist Director Chris Stocksmith continues with his popular AOL “You’ve Got...” series.
