Manchester United and England’s Luke Shaw, Liverpool and Scotland’s Andy Robertson, and West Ham United have today launched their own NFTs, in partnership with Sportemon Go.
The collaboration was made possible by the Premier League stars being available on Pickstar, the global marketplace for sports and entertainment talent.
Founded in Australia in 2017, Pickstar allows brands and businesses to search and select stars with ease, for anything from sports after dinner speakers and motivational speakers for events such as International Women’s Day, to opportunities in helping companies hire a football legend for one-off or multi-year partnerships.
Luke Shaw, Andy Robertson have signed exclusively to Sportemon Go for all future NFTs, and join other UK athletes such as British Boxing’s Nigel and Connor Benn in doing so.
Recently named as one of the world’s biggest sports NFT players by coinchapter.com, Sportmon Go will be creating and issuing a number of different editions and NFT releases for the Premier stars, ranging from “Marvel-like” Superheroes to Trading Card Collections. The players will feature in a range of digital formats allowing fans to purchase one-of-a-kind collectables.
Sportemon Go’s CEO, Ricky Jackson, said: “We’re over the moon to be listing a new host of NFTs featuring some of the best talent in the Premier League today. Together we will be creating some of the most exciting and dynamic digital collectables for fans to enjoy for generations. Pickstar has helped us both in the search and selection of these three incredible players and we’re thrilled to be setting a date for their release.”
“Pickstar has played a central role in connecting brands and business to talent in Australia for a number of years and it’s great to see our global expansion now resulting in incredible partnerships like this,” said Loren Renton, Pickstar’s chief growth officer. “Playing a role in bringing some of the Premier League’s most revered talent to the world of NFTs is an exciting proposition, and one we will be looking to replicate more so here in the UK, and beyond,” added Renton.
Through this exciting relationship, Sportemon Go is transforming sport’s digital merchandise boom and revolutionising the memorabilia and collectables industry, globally, as one of the largest movers in this space.
