Porsche created an interactive livestream on Twitch to gamify the official presentation of the Formula-Electric model: spectators were invited to make decisions, among different proposals, to guide two drivers who were trying to find the car.
Like an escape room, the audience had to give the answers unanimously in the chat room as the final decisions were the result of the choices with the most answers.
During the experiment, the participants were also able to unlock an emoticon (called “emote” on Twitch), the "PorscheWIN", usable on the Twitch chat, which represented a trophy to congratulate them for carrying out the experiment.
The system set up by Porsche shows us that the brand has clearly understood Twitch users expectations and how they behave on the platform. This type of innovative communication succeeds in achieving the objectives set by the challenge and in reaching a target currently highly valued by the brands.
Gamification and interactivity allowed Porsche to really stand out from its competitors with a major operation that massively engaged the audience.
The experience could have been increased by inviting partner influencers to redirect their audiences to the stream in order to engage a wider community, including people who may not be fans of the Formula E and Porsche in the first place.
