AKQA campaign features an exclusive song written by the Brazilian singer and a music video inspired by the Battle Royale universe

To announce the collab between Anitta and Free Fire, a new single named ‘Tropa’ (Squad) was released, and a music video was created to celebrate the arrival of the global artist in the Battle Royale with her character ‘The Patroa’ (The Boss).

Led by AKQA, with the contribution of its music partner, AKQA Coala.Lab, the project was co-created with the singer and Garena's team. “I chose every detail of my character. Me and my stylist, we designed every part of the outfit, every bit, hair, eyes, tattoos, everything. We made the drawings, sent them to Free Fire, and then went to the approval part, making the necessary changes. It was a lot of work”, said Anitta.

Anitta is a pop icon who has been on the rise over the last few years. Born and raised in Brazil, she is becoming a global phenomenon and has features with singers and DJs like Snoop Dogg, Maluma, Alesso, and J Balvin. Her single ‘Envolver’ recently hit No. 1 on Spotify and she made her debut at Coachella.

The production of the clip also had the direct participation of Anitta, who accompanied the entire process alongside the LA based director Christian Breslauer, chosen due his experience shooting great artists like Lil Nas X and The Weeknd, who also directed 'Boys Don't Cry', another hit by Anitta.

The scenarios used in the film reflected the experience of Free Fire maps and highlighted the details of their powerful skins in many action scenes with explosions, cars, planes and an unprecedented choreography. In the scenes, “The Patroa” (The Boss) works with the characters Kelly, Moco and Shani, forming her squad.

The music video has the presence of famous influencers and personalities from the game universe. In the video, fans are invited to visit the Patroa's music store, the starting point of a mission with the character and her partners.

Featuring Luck Muzik, the campaign theme song ‘Tropa’ mixes elements of pop and funk genres, in addition to bringing in the lyrics expressions and names known by the Free Fire community. The song can be listened inside Free Fire, in the lobby and on streaming platforms, such as Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify, YouTube Music, among others.

“We had several meetings and decided to do some really cool things. We will have several surprises, several deliveries to the public. Everyone will love it, I'm sure”, said Anitta.

The campaign is signed by AKQA with its 3D Studio Zebra. The clip is produced by VLNT Filmes, post production is by The End with audio production by Hefty.

With two in-game versions, ‘The Patroa’ will have an unprecedented feature: four slots available to customise the character's abilities in the game. The player will be able to choose whether to equip one active skill and three passive skills or four passive skills. The chosen ability will have the same level as the characters previously acquired by the players. "The Patroa" can have different combinations, varying according to need or preference of play style.
