Poignant Film from Agile's Lucy Bridger Follows the Trials of Motherhood

‘Midpoint’ tells the story of Joan Day, a 65 year old Country singer. When Joan comes to London for a show, she decides to reconnect with her estranged daughter, Nic. When they meet, Joan tries to come to terms with her choice to choose the romantic life of a nomadic musician over motherhood. 

Featuring Niamh Cusack (Heartbeat, In Love with Alma Cogan), the film tells an evocative and tender story of a complicated woman grappling with her own maternal instincts with music from Keane’s Tom Chaplin. 

Lucy Bridger says, “Often women are made to feel that motherhood is the only path. I wanted to tell a story about a complex woman, who imperfectly rejected this to pursue an independence that fulfils her”.

'Midpoint' is the title track for Chaplin whose third solo album of the same name is released 2nd September 2022.
