Tommy is a veteran of shops including Publicis, TBWA\Chiat\Day and CP+B

Creative and branding agency Planet Propaganda has brought on Tommy Cottam as director of business development to accelerate the agency’s growth both in the way of new business, and the organic expansion of existing roster clients like Duluth Trading Co., Jersey Mike’s Subs, Ale Asylum, Pancheros Mexican Grill, and Big Lots.

Tommy is an award-winning brand leader with a track record of leading integrated campaigns that are customer-focused and culturally disruptive, and his career has taken him all over the world. Prior to joining Planet Propaganda, he was an account director at MONO Minneapolis, where he worked on Google and Leinenkugel’s Beer. Before that, he worked for Publicis out of Milan, Italy, where he led a large portion of Heineken’s global advertising business (winning Cannes Lions and Clios in the process), including the repositioning of Heineken for new drinkers in 192 countries. Prior to that, he was an account supervisor at TBWA\Chiat\Day LA with a focus on Gatorade, for which the agency won gold Lions and Clios for its Serena Williams Snapchat game, and Miller Lite.

“When I started doing my homework, I was blown away by the work Planet Propaganda has made and placed into culture – delivering its clients some serious results along the way,” Tommy said. “Planet helped grow Duluth Trading Co. into a beloved work and outdoor apparel brand, helped fuel Jersey Mike’s Subs' industry-leading growth, and made Pernod Ricard’s 'Smithworks American Made Vodka' a legit challenger to Tito’s, to name just a few. The work and ambition is just fantastic, and it made me want to be here.”

“Though Tommy has spent most of his career on the account side, his wide-ranging experience with different types of clients and passion for delivering standout work made him a perfect fit for this role,” said Emily Steele, account director at Planet Propaganda. “We’re glad he decided to come on board and help us find brave client partners with an ambitious mindset.”
