‘Most weeks, we’re often spoilt for choice when it comes to creating our playlist for Tracks of the Week, but this week was something else! With each member of Team P&S suggesting more than double the number of tracks that they usually put forward, the task of narrowing down this week’s playlist was no easy feat. Rest assured, we’ve managed to do it - just about! If anything, these tracks really demonstrate the breadth of our musical taste.’
Ibrik by Bonobo
The first release as part of a series of mixes by London nightlife institution, Fabric, Bonobo is back with his first new track since 2017. With the rest of the mix not due until next month, we’ll have to stick to replaying this brilliant taster on repeat until then.
New Love by Catz N' Dogz
Break-beats, synth, piano - this track has everything! The latest release from one of the finest double acts in electronic music, Catz ‘n Dogz, is warm, infectious and euphoric. Make sure you check out the brilliantly cinematic music video too!
New Heights by Kamaal Williams
Leading the way for the UK jazz scene, there are arguably few cooler artists out there right now than Kamaal Williams and this track definitely proves it. You’ve got to go some way to find a smoother track this week.
Pressure to Party by Julia Jacklin
Another musician that oozes coolness, Julia Jacklin releases another cut off her sophomore album. Accompanied by a quirky music video that is so typically Jacklin, she never disappoints.
Cola Bottle Baby by Edwin Birdsong
A must have for this week’s playlist, funk singer Edwin Birdsong unfortunately passed away this week. With his music sampled by artists from all genres such as Daft Punk and Gang Starr, his influence is ever-present within the music industry.
