Awards season is well and truly underway. With the BAFTAs and Grammys taking place last week and the Brits and Oscars to follow this week, we’ve essentially been bombarded by all things awards. Whilst most of the work nominated is top quality, we thought this week’s playlist could offer a bit of respite. These are the top tracks that you’re unlikely to hear this week over the awards hubbub.
Adore You by Jessie Ware
Teaming up with Metronomy’s Joe Mount, Jessie Ware continues to prove why she’s one of Britain’s finest homegrown talents. Simply luxurious, we can’t wait to hear what else she has in store for 2019.
Ruiner by Methyl Ethel
Further proof that Australia is the place to be for psychedelic indie music, the opener from Perth’s Methyl Ethel latest album is a bouncy start to your week.
Stuck by Girl Unit
Remember ‘Wut’? Well Phil Gamble aka Girl Unit is back almost a decade later with a track featuring dance hall vocalist Taliwhoah, which is glitzy pop at it’s finest.
Mushroom Chocolate by Quin
R&B is really having a moment and this track from QUIN is a testament to that. Featuring sultry vocals from 6LACK, this is the perfect track for those who are having belated Valentine’s celebrations.
Coming Back by Eli & Fur
Emotive, elegant and dreamy, Eli & Fur return with an ode to the difficulty of letting go. Wonderfully melodic, there doesn’t seem to be anything stopping this duo.
