P&S goes around the world to bring you new tracks from Turkey, UK and the Democratic Republic of Congo

Pitch & Sync’s Tracks of the Week: 10/12/2018

Music and sound agency Pitch & Sync reveal the latest and hottest new artists, songs and albums that they’ve been listening to in their weekly instalment of Tracks of the Week.

The Christmas season is well underway. We could easily pack our weekly playlist with a few of our festive favourites, however we just can’t stop discovering great new music. This week, we’ve done a bit of globe trotting, bringing you five of the best new tracks from Turkey, the UK and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Affaire A Mbongo by KOKOKO!

Congolese collective KOKOKO! released this thrilling track that transports us to sunnier climes. With an 80s new wave feel mixed in with contemporary flair, we can’t wait to hear what 2019 has in store for this group.

Ordinary Pleasure by Toro y Moi

The always consistent Toro y Moi is back with another funky track off his highly anticipated upcoming album, ‘Outer Peace’. Perhaps one of the catchiest bass lines this year.

A Step Ahead by 9th Creation

Would it even be Tracks of the Week without a cheeky little Past Due Records reissue?! Courtesy of US funk band 9th Creation, calling this cut infectious is an understatement. It would be criminal to not at least tap your foot to this one.

Seker Oglan by Arsivplak

It’s not every day that you come across some Turkish disco, however this week, we couldn’t help but include this party starter from Arsivplak. A good one to sneak onto your Christmas party playlist.

White Water by Poppy Ajudha

A bit of a change of pace from our other tracks this week, given the release of her latest EP, we just had to highlight Poppy Ajudha. The whole EP is stellar though if we needed to pick a standout, it would be this track.
