Pitch & Sync’s Tracks of the Week | 03.06.19

Today it's a pretty momentous week. With the announcement of the closure of iTunes, Trump’s visit to the UK and, perhaps the biggest of all, the launch of Love Island series five, it’s already been a fairly newsworthy week. Not to be outdone, we’ve put together a list of tracks that are sure to be equally newsworthy. The biggest and best tracks of the week, in our humble opinion.

The Crowded Cell by PJ Harvey

Featuring prominently in Shane Meadow’s latest TV series, ‘The Virtues’, this latest track by PJ Harvey is harrowing and haunting to say the least. A show that has flown under the radar for Team P&S, based on this track, we’ll definitely be binge watching.

Hungboo by Peggy Gou

It’s quite rare for Peggy Gou to release a track that doesn’t appear on our TOTW playlist and this week is no different. A sneak peak of her upcoming DJ-Kicks EP, ‘Hungboo’ is yet another Gou track that’ll get us straight on the dancefloor.

When the Lights Are Out by Maceo Plex

Tech house goes all emo in this latest track by Maceo Plex. Not emo in a My Chemical Romance sense but this almost eight-minute behemoth is an uncharacteristically beautiful and haunting track for the genre.

Every so often, we’ll throw in an old track that we’ve recently rediscovered. This funky gospel track by New York Community Choir proves just how cool choirs can be and puts us all in the perfect mood for the week ahead.
