This week's playlist features tracks by Youth Sector, Blue Lab Beats and Sylvester

Pitch & Sync’s Tracks of the Week | 01.07.19

A busy week for all, there was so much going on, with the start of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Pride Month (which culminated with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots), a cheeky little heatwave, oh, and a little festival known as Glastonbury which saw some of the world’s biggest acts take to the stage in record temperatures. Given that there were more iconic moments than we could count, we’ve taken the tough decision to omit the Glastonbury acts, simply because this list would be never-ending!

Renting Spaces in My World by Youth Sector

Acts such as Parquet Courts have helped to reinvigorate the post-punk scene and it looks like Brighton’s Youth Sector are well on their way to being key figures of said scene with this bass heavy track that transports you to 1980s New York.

Old Times by Blue Lab Beats

Taken from their highly anticipated EP, ‘Vibe Central’, Blue Lab Beats return with this synthy track that sounds straight out of the West Coast. The perfect soundtrack for the heatwave.

Anyone for Tennis? by Cream

Given Wimbledon starts today, we couldn’t help but include a track all about the sport we all know and love. What would Wimbledon be without this Cream classic?

Music Sounds Better With You by Stardust

The re-release we’ve all been waiting for, can you believe that we’ve had to go so long without this French House classic by Stardust on streaming services?! Thankfully, it’s been re-released to commemorate 21 years of filling dancefloors worldwide.

You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) by Sylvester

To mark the end of Pride Month and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, we couldn’t help but include one of the most iconic tracks by an LGBTQ+ artist from the 1970s. This track by Sylvester still holds up to this day so we just had to include it.
