The Philippine Department of Tourism, in partnership with BBDO Guerrero, has launched a campaign encouraging people to ‘travel from home’. The campaign uses the virtual background feature used by conference call facilities and video conferencing platforms to enable people to see the beautiful landscapes of the Philippines from the safety and comfort of their home.
The ‘Travel From Home’ virtual backgrounds transports you to some of the most popular tourism spots in the country, and are arranged to reflect the relevant times of day. They are available to download for free on the website BBDO built and can be set as virtual backgrounds for video conferencing. So, you have the ability to have your early morning meeting with a glorious mountain sunrise, and your evening meeting with a golden beach sunset.
BBDO Guerrero conceptualised the campaign to remind and encourage people to stay at home. Every download comes with a reminder—that as much as our destinations miss you, it’s vital that you stay home now so you can return to your favourite places in the Philippines later.
Department of Tourism Assistant Secretary Howard Uyking says: “The DOT is one with the nation in prioritising public safety. We hope that these beautiful photos of our destinations will enhance your video calls with family, friends and colleagues, and inspire you to look forward to what's in store once we get through this challenge by cooperating with one another.”
BBDO Guerrero creative chairman David Guerrero says: “Millions of people around the world are turning to video conferencing platforms to stay in touch with work and family at this time. We hope to encourage them to stay at home. Because the more we all stay home the sooner we can look forward to heading outside.”
