Agency momentum continues with new appointments across Toronto and New York

Performance Art, Interpublic Group’s (IPG) data-driven creative agency, announces the appointment of Paul Fung as creative director in New York, with Benson Ngo promoted to same title, and Jess Willis joining as group creative director in Toronto.

“I’ve been hoping for a chance to work with Paul since 2014, when I first noticed his unparalleled talent for craft, concept, and community,” says Performance Art chief creative officer, Ian Mackenzie. “We’re thrilled to have him contribute to the creativity for our U.S.-based clients and bring his passion and commitment to help us achieve our ambitious DE&I objectives.”

Fung most recently served as creative lead at RPA, where he headed up brand work that ran the gamut from VR/AR and social to more traditional brand work for Honda and Facebook, among other brands.

The agency is also pleased to announce the promotion of Benson Ngo to creative director. Ngo has been part of the agency since its founding last year and was central to the development of the agency’s award-winning Black Elevation Map work for client Black & Abroad. Prior to joining Performance Art, Ngo delivered breakthrough creativity for brands like McDonald’s, Subway, and Molson Coors.

In Performance Art’s Toronto office, Jess Willis joins the team, charged with driving creativity, growth, and cross-functional collaboration for the agency’s Canadian clients. She brings nearly 20 years of experience to the agency, most recently serving as creative director at John St.

“Jess has a unique ability to balance high-creative with high-performance, and traditional with digital” says Performance Art chief creative officer, Ian Mackenzie. “She’s an incredibly talented, versatile, and forward-thinking creative who comes with big ideas grounded in data – having her on board will be a boon to our agency and clients alike.”

These appointments mark the latest hires in the company’s rapidly expanding creative department.
