Pepsi Unveils Limited Edition Nutmeg Flavour in Honour of Football Film 'Nutmeg Royale'

Continuing to honours football's craftiest skill, Pepsi has released a Pepsi Nutmeg for football fans thirsty for more unexpected fun and experiences

Pepsi is giving its world-famous taste credentials a warm, nutty twist with the release of a limited-edition flavour, Pepsi Nutmeg. Announced across the brand’s social channels, the fiery new offering pays homage to Pepsi’s latest football campaign, ‘Nutmeg Royale’, an epic film featuring football icons and celebrating the game’s craftiest move. Always at the forefront of football, fun and flavour, Pepsi has created this new flavour for risk-takers who are thirsty for the unexpected and the rush of the game, captured in a can. 

Speaking on the new flavour, Pepsi’s senior director, global marketing, Gustavo Reyna said, “We had so much fun bringing our latest football campaign ‘Nutmeg Royale’ to life! After centring a project around one of football’s craftiest moves, it made perfect sense for us to explore the option of creating a limited-edition flavour that complimented the cunning skill. Pepsi has always been known for fun and daring takes on our classic cola through the exploration of exciting flavour innovations. From Cherry, to Lime, to Nitro and now Nutmeg, we love pushing flavour boundaries! Pepsi Nutmeg is no different - innovation, fun and flavour at its finest and we are so excited to share with the world!”

Swapping out Pepsi’s iconic can design, Pepsi Nutmeg comes in striking new packaging that draws inspiration from the ‘Nutmeg Royale’ hero film - a nod to the brand’s forward-thinking innovation and connectivity. The limited-edition can is shaded in a light sandy colour, showcasing two footballers embraced in a nutmeg exchange, and comes in a 473ml size. Pepsi Nutmeg is available as an extremely limited-product run and while not yet available for purchase, football fans should keep their eyes on the Pepsi Global channels on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for their chance to get their hands on the new flavour.

The announcement of Pepsi Nutmeg coincides with the brand’s new global tagline ‘Thirsty For More’, which launched earlier this year to celebrate people’s thirst for fun, excitement and unexpected outcomes. ‘Thirsty For More’ is a shared mindset between the brand and its consumers and celebrates and rewards those who pursue their curiosity to experience the exciting and unexpected.
