Paul Ramaema Embraces the Chemistry Between Dance and Movement in Carlos Hof Video 'Wake Up'

Robot director Paul Ramaema has launched his latest music video for international artist Carlos Hof ft. Richard Farrell. 

It is a simple, yet innovative music video which uses dance and light to express the various emotions and meaning behind the songs lyrics. Slow and gradual rise of a performance based choreography. Single location with intercutting sequences under water.

The video is a collaboration made up of interesting synchronicities, Joanna Holewa Chrona, a Swedish based dancer, Paul Ramaema, South African based director and Carlos Hof, a Spanish based composer, creating the conceptual idea for the video almost fully remotely.

The video was shot in two locations around Johannesburg, studio and underwater. The team had to find the most simple yet effective way possible to bring the simplicity of the treatment to life, while also being intentionally captivating with our camera movement and use of light.
