Passion signs new designer/director Kevin Dart
Passion is delighted to announce that Kevin Dart has joined the company for commercials representation in Europe and North America. Here’s a link to Kevin Dart’s animation and illustration work:
Dart is a designer, illustrator and director based in Los Angeles. He studied computer graphics in Seattle after which he spent 3 years working as a modeller in video games. At the same time Dart had developed an interest in illustration, which he pursued in his spare time. Eventually he decided to make a break from video games and relocated to Los Angeles where he completed an animation internship at Pixar in the same year. Since then Dart has worked as a designer for Passion Pictures, Cartoon Network, Walt Disney and Dreamworks, typically working in the areas of visual development and art direction.
Dart says about his creative influences, “One of my biggest inspirations has always been mid-20th century illustration, in particular artists like Bernie Fuchs, Bob Peak, and Robert McGinnis. I’ve tried to combine that with my love for animation and graphic design. I’m also inspired by movies, particularly really cinematic ones with grand staging and dramatic shots, like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.”
Most recently Kevin has co-directed a brand film “Year of Sun” for Persol, the Italian eyewear brand with Stephane Coedel, which was commissioned by creative agency Winkcreative. The film is one of the nominees in this year’s CFP-E/Shots Young Director Award at Cannes June 2012.
