‘Searching for Sugarman’ nominated for an Oscar and ‘The Imposter’ for two BAFTAs

Passion Nominated for Major Film Awards

 

Passion Pictures is proud to announce it has two feature documentaries in contention for some major film awards this year.   
 
Searching for Sugarman has been nominated for an Oscar in the 85th Academy Awards® in the Feature Documentary category section and for Best Documentary for the BAFTAs.  This is a debut film for director Malik Benjelloul and is a Red Box Films/Passion Pictures production in association with Canfield Pictures and The Documentary Company.   
 
The Imposter directed by Bart Layton has two BAFTA nominations for Best Documentary and Outstanding Debut by a Britsh Writer Director or Producer.  This film is a Raw production with Red Box Films and Passion Pictures for A&E IndieFilms, Film4 and Channel 4.
 
In addition to these accolades, animation director Sam Fell who recently joined Passion Pictures for commercials representation has also been nominated for both an Academy Award and a BAFTA as co-director of animated feature ParaNorman.
