In a new series of adverts to promote BBC Radio 3, Chris Cairns' striking ideas illustrate the increasingly diverse sonic nature of the station.
The striking and memorable spots range from a sound collaboration with String and Tins who wrote music and sound to accompany Alice Oswald’s ‘Rain’ poem, to destroying the instruments of four Matthew Herberts with power tools. Then, finally, a one-shot idea with Soweto Kinch and his crew improvising a jazz piece in a ‘La Haine’ style housing estate party.
