New director signings include Lucy Luscombe, Hector Aponysus and Holly Blakey

Park Pictures London announces three new director signings, signalling expansion in the UK and European markets.

Following the hiring of managing director, Fran Thompson, and head of special projects, Shelley Jones, the London office of the international production company advances its footprint on UK soil.

New director signings include Lucy Luscombe, Hector Aponysus and Holly Blakey.

From Gucci K-pop stars to coming-of-age suburban teens, Lucy captures the joy, humour and messy moments that make us human. Lucy’s career began directing music videos for John Grant, Blood Orange, Skepta and Darkstar and has evolved to shoot spots for brands including Zalando, The Face, Aldi, Dove. Her short film Pagans (2019) was nominated for Best UK Short at Raindance and Encounters and received Vimeo Staff Pick and Short of the Week. Currently she is developing her debut feature Hyper Hyper with the BFI and has been selected for Film4’s Future Takes fund, shooting this summer.

From capturing Obongjayar performing in front of his family for the first time in his childhood home – which won a UKMVA in 2022 – to tracking down rave kids in the North East of England, Hector is drawn to capturing the energy and spirit of people who find creative ways to exist in the world. Hector has directed music videos, commercials and creative content for Converse, Birkenstock, Under Armour, Kappa, NTS, Boiler Room and Petite Noir alongside acting as Creative Director for a number of editorial platforms and fashion labels.

Holly is an esteemed choreographer, dancer and director, who adds another unique profile to the roster with a portfolio that includes Florence & The Machine, MØ, and Mabel, Dior and Gucci. Breathing new life into dance with hyper-fluidity, eroticism, and a commitment to celebrating diverse physicality, Holly most recently presented a sell out performance of Cowpuncher, in collaboration with Vivienne Westwood, Mica Levi and the London Symphony Orchestra, at Southbank at the beginning of 2023.

“The energy, talent and range that this group of directors brings to Park is a signal of what’s to come from us here in London. Each one of these directors has their own valuable individual perspective: great storytellers come in many forms and by way of different paths - the spectrum of artistry, craft and expertise seen across Lucy, Hector and Holly’s work is a reflection of the creative industry in this moment. They are the voices of the future and we are immensely proud to welcome them.” said Fran Thompson, managing director, Park Pictures.

“I’m so excited to join a company associated with real cinematic craft, talent and integrity. The team have a plethora of experience and vision in addition to being wonderful people. I’m very happy to be here.” said Lucy Luscombe.

“I’m inspired by the iconic work produced at Park Pictures, their ingrained ethics and the radiant people that work there. I’m here to make rebellious, heartfelt and visually extraordinary work. Park Pictures feels like the perfect place for me to do this and I’m ecstatic to be joining them. Camera speed.” said Hector Aponysus.

“I’m excited to find new ways of landing our worlds together and joining this wonderful roster of artists. There’s a candour and openness being explored at Park, ideas around shifting context and thinking beyond how we might presume to operate, this feels really inspiring to me.” said Holly Blakey.
