Energy company ‘puts people before profits’ in comical campaign by Fabula

OVO Shows Love to Frustrated Energy Customers

OVO Energy, the UK electricity and gas supplier, is putting the love back into the energy market with a new TV campaign which launched on Valentine’s Day.

The comical TV ads, by Fabula, show a series of relationship counseling sessions between frustrated customers and their energy supplier.

Teaser ads broke on Friday, February 7th in the run up to the campaign launch on February 14th. The 30 second TV spots are supported by press, outdoor, digital and social media activity.

The campaign, called “Feel Loved Again”, highlights OVO’s objectives to put people before profits and aims to establish the brand as a consumer champion in a market dominated by six major suppliers.

'Feel Loved Again' is Fabula’s first major campaign for OVO since winning the business last year.

Jennifer Black, partner at Fabula, said: “OVO and Fabula are a perfect fit. They are a new player in the market with big ambition. We have therefore loved working with them over the last six months on everything from brand strategy, re-designing their brand identity, and now their first campaign.”

Sarah Keegan, OVO’s head of brand, said: “We needed to create a campaign that builds our brand, entertains customers and challenges the giants of the energy industry. Luke and Yan’s track record made them the easy choice and their creative brilliance, collaborative nature and down to earth approach has made Fabula a great addition to the team. Their focus on what’s really important for customers and OVO in an industry that desperately needs shaking up means 2014 is set to be an exciting year for both of us.”
