Edward joins for representation in the UK and Amsterdam

London based production company Outsider has welcomed British director Edward Andrews to their renowned roster for representation in the UK and Amsterdam.

In his short time behind the camera Andrews’ has picked up an impressive and growing list of awards. He was Shots New Director of the Year in 2021, and his recent film for Nabs ‘This Job Can Break You’ has picked up over 25 prizes and nominations around the world including 2 Silvers and 2 Bronzes at the 2022 Clios.

Edward’s distinctive voice as a filmmaker has been influenced by and developed through his unique path to this point. After being inspired by the surrealistic photomontages of thought-provoking photographer Jerry Ueslmann, Edward started his career in the world of visual effects. As a compositor at DNeg he was part of the Oscar-winning VFX teams behind such films as Blade Runner 2049, Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, and the Harry Potter franchise, an experience that has clearly informed so much of the visually rich stories he tells, which combine powerful performances with hints of surrealism and moments of seamless VFX, capturing reality but in an elegantly heightened way.

On signing to Outsider, Edward says “It’s amazing to be part of a production company that I've followed for so many years. Outsider has a history of incredible storytellers, producing some of my favourite commercials. I'm excited to join the team.”

Outsider executive producer Simon Elborne said “I just knew there was something very special about Edward’s work as soon as I saw it. His eye for composition and detail is astounding, and his knowledge about film craft is second to none. I also knew there was something very special about Edward himself as soon as I spoke to him. His passion and ambition impressed me immensely, and I just knew we’d have fun working together.”
