Ex client at Cadbury and Fonterra, John Williams has teamed up with James Procter (ex ECD at TBWA HK) to launch a new kind of agency... One Small Step Collective. The agency will be based in Melbourne and shall provide bespoke solutions to client challenges.
Says Williams “We think a lot of clients are demanding a more adaptable and nimble approach. They really just want to engage with people that add value not a structure. For us the equation was simple; consumers have changed, business has changed, and we think it’s time that agencies presented a different model based on the needs of modern business.”
The working experience of the two partners allows them to cover a lot of space. From client side, to packaging and design, through to branding, advertising and digital content.
“We love being generalists.” says Procter. “Sure, experience shows we cover a lot of ground and we all have our expertise, but being broad allows us to have bigger conversations with our clients. We find this opening leads us to interesting and unexpected solutions.” “I guess for us, it’s easy to just whinge and whine about the state of the industry and we’re not saying we are THE answer. We are just providing an alternative voice.”
