Omaid Hiwaizi has been appointed by Geometry Global UK as Chief Strategy Officer. Hiwaizi was formerly planning director at SapientNitro and marks Sarah Todd’s first major appointment as CEO of Geometry Global UK, completing her UK management team line-up.
As Chief Strategy Officer, Omaid will report into CEO Sarah Todd and be responsible for driving the Precision Activation proposition at all levels of the business, developing a more precise understanding of consumer habits and motivations through a mix of data, analytics and behavioural insights across all relevant channels and contexts.
Omaid is one of the industry’s true hybrids. After studying Mathematics at Cambridge University, he embarked on a career as a creative, designing i-D magazine and founding direct marketing agency Hubbard Hiwaizi McCann. At HHM he began as Creative Director, but soon took on the role of Director of Difference (delivering innovation in process, culture/environment and services to differentiate the agency proposition), before finally moving to the role of Planning Director. He subsequently founded interactive communications agency Crayon, before going on to both launch the strategy function at digital agency Fortune Cookie and subsequently lead the planning department at integrated agency Chemistry.
It was from Chemistry that Omaid moved to SapientNitro, where he quickly gained responsibility for leading marketing strategy, brand planning and digital strategy thinking across a number of SapientNitro's national and global clients, spanning disciplines including advertising, direct and retail marketing, social and CRM based engagement, service-based utility and experience-based brand activation.
