O&M London and Dove Present the #MannequinChallenge... With a Twist
The Smalls recreates the viral hit with the Real Beauty message
Dove always strives to reassure women that they needn’t feel anxious about their beauty. The team at O&M London sought to find a fun way of turning the #MannequinChallenge on its head - whilst all #MannequinChallenge videos out there are encouraging humans to behave like statues, Dove has taken a step in the opposite direction and challenged mannequins to be more like us.
Dove's video features real mannequins in a store, while a group of real women -- with real human body figures, skin colours and hair styles -- react and comment how store mannequins look. Midway through the video, one of the women holds up a card which reads: "Let's challenge mannequins to look more like us".
It's an irreverent and fun chapter of Dove's famous Real Beauty campaign - having long championed a broader definition of beauty. This is a light-hearted way of reminding us that there are many shapes, colours and sizes to real beauty.
