Liv is regarded as an ETC ‘OG’ after joining as an ambitious 17 year old back in 2014

Electric Theatre Collective has announced the victorious return of Olivia Jessop to the Electric production team.

Liv joins as a colour producer and her return is a sentimental one for Electric. Liv is regarded as an ETC ‘OG’ after joining as an ambitious 17 year old back in 2014. After years of learning the ropes, and much to Pavey’s dismay, Liv left to spread her wings and gain some more experience elsewhere in the industry. Just before the pandemic, Liv took a short break from the world of post production to focus on fitness but in the end, she couldn’t give it up for good.

A very excited Lee Pavey said on the hire: “We are so glad to have Liv back as part of the Electric family, and can’t wait to see what she can bring to the Electric Colour team.”

Liv comments: “I can’t wait to get stuck in back at Electric. I feel very welcomed, and am looking forward to being part of this incredible family again. I’m back home!”

ETC sat down to catch up with Liv and asked her some very important questions…

Q> So Liv, how does it feel to be back at Electric after all this time?

Olivia> Is this what it feels like when you move back in with your parents in your 20s? Ha.

In all honesty, it feels like I’ve never even left. I’m definitely back where I belong, it’s my home. I hold ETC very close to my heart and can’t thank them enough for believing in a 17 year old emo aspiring to be a producer back in 2014. We’ve come a long way, without a few tattoos, thanks to Lee Pavey.

Q> In what ways has the cut-throat world of personal training and fitness prepared you for your return to post production?

Olivia> I’m more prepared for any push-up competitions at ETC. I’ve had 1 since being here and I was the clear winner. I won’t name and shame the loser, but you know who you are.

Open to more if anyone is brave enough…

Q> Jane Fonda vs. Mr. Motivator, who wins?

Olivia>I’m putting my money on Jane Fonda. Allll day. She is a queen.

Q> Anyway, this time around you have joined our Colour Grading Department - what made you want to join this team?

Olivia> The work definitely speaks for itself when it comes to Electric Colour. The talent in the team is just another kind. I’ve got a lot of love for each of the colourists, assists and everyone in between. Everyone brings a slightly different edge to grading which invites such a broad range of work that not many other companies get the chance to work on. The future of the team is so exciting and we’re only going to get better. I’m so ready to be part of this journey with them.

Q> If you could have worked on any project from the years gone by, which would you choose?

Olivia> Any music video from the 80s. Let’s just say Janet Jackson. Rhythm Nation.

Q> What fictional character do you hate the most?

Olivia>  Brian from Family Guy. No one needs a Brian in their life.

Q> You can make them do 1000 push-ups or 1000 squats, which torture do you inflict?

Olivia> EASY. 1000 squats - preferably not after a leg day though…

Q> We’ve moved since you were last with us, how are you finding ETC’s new office in Whitechapel?

Olivia> I feel like I was as excited as the two guys in Step Brothers when they moved in together and made bunk beds. So.It’s crazy how a company can move from their OG office (Margaret St) but bring the same amazing vibes to another place but even better. I’ve got some of the best memories in our old studio, but I’m excited to make even more in this amazing space.

Q> You can either only ever wear gym clothes, or never wear them ever again, which do you choose?

Olivia> You don’t even have to ask me. Gym clothes. All day every day. Comfort over fashion is a mantra I like to live by.

Q> And finally, we have to ask, team doors or team wheels?

Olivia> Was I allowed to Google what this means? After dipping into a dark hole on the internet for longer than I thought, it’s got to be #teamwheels.
