Oliver Xu Named CIO for Grey Group China & MD at Grey Beijing

Oliver Xu has been named Chief Integration Officer for Grey Group China & Managing Director for Grey Beijing

With 22 years in the business, and a series of senior leadership roles at top agencies such as JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi and BBDO Beijing, Oliver Xu is a respected professional.

In addition to leading Grey Beijing as Managing Director (MD), Xu will also be running Grey Group’s integrated services in China - taking on the newly created title, Chief Integration Officer.

Xu said, “I can’t wait to get my teeth into the role at Grey. They have really gone from strength to strength in the last few years, what TH has done with the network in China is really impressive. I am so excited to be part of their journey and of course will do everything I can to take them to the next level.”

Grey Beijing has enjoyed significant growth in recent years with the team appointed as the lead creative agency for Mengniu, GSK and Futon Automobile as well as winning a raft of new business.

The acquisition of ArtM in May 2013 has bolstered the agency’s shopper marketing and activation capabilities. Xu’s additional role as Grey’s CIO will have him overseeing the deployment of these capabilities across the region.

TH Peng, Chairman and CEO of Grey Greater China said, “We are thrilled Oliver has decided to join us as MD of Beijing and in the newly created role of CIO. His maturity as a leader, vast experience and his detailed knowledge and nuanced understanding of local and global business means we couldn’t have wished for a better man for the job.”
