Parisian production company Nicholas Berglund has announced the signing of Canadian director Stuart A. McIntyre.
"Stuart A. McIntyre is a guy who knows how to push through the pain. There isn't a sense of dalliance in his work, he goes straight to the soul, guts and emotion of what he wants to say, the brutal cuts and bloody faces. Sure, he has evident influences that've shaped the way he crafts his films - Wong Kar Wai, Scorsese, P.T. Anderson to name a few - but mining a cool set of inspirations doesn't make for a great reel. What McIntyre excels at, in addition to building evocative mood and atmosphere, is the reoccurring theme of his protagonists overcoming their obstacles and finding salvage and strength in the new balance - a gratifying affair that truly unifies the human spirit and inevitably, brings us closer to it all," said a representative at Nicholas Berglund.
