Katy Parr to develop talent across region

New Talent Director BBDO Asia

BBDO Asia, an Omnicom company, has appointed Katy Parr to hold the newly created role of Talent Director for BBDO and Proximity in Asia based in Hong Kong. She moves into this position, after 6 years as Regional Account Director at BBDO Hong Kong having moved to Asia from AMVBBDO London.

Parr will be focused on talent, learning and development across the region, a key business priority for the network. Working closely with BBDO U in Europe, the network’s global internal training programme, Parr has spent six months designing the launch of BBDO U Asia in September.

In addition to launching BBDO U, Parr will be working closely with local offices on their individual curriculums as well as progressing Asian stars through to the BBDO and Omnicom global talent programmes.

Chris Thomas, Chairman & CEO BBDO Asia, Middle East & Africa, said of the appointment: "Katy gets BBDO. She has worked with us in Europe and in Asia – and is a talented account leader. We have always invested heavily in our people – through training and cross network collaboration. Katy will make sure that investment is being made strategically and wisely."

Parr added: “Our talent is what sets BBDO Proximity apart and this new role is a vivid demonstration of the network’s commitment to attracting and retaining the very best talent in the marketplace.  I will focus solely on nurturing and developing the fantastic people we have across the agency. We have a great global capability in BBDO U, which our people in Asia can benefit from. In turn, there are many learnings in Asia that can feed back into the global programme.”
