New Balance and World-Beating Athletes Face The Past to Help Us All Understand our Future Selfies

Boston-based shoemaker New Balance have teamed up with New York based creative agency Ace Content to put together an inspiring campaign that feature the stories of a group of their top athletes. The videos feature pro skateboarder and MIT educated architect Alexis Sablone, Olympian 800 metre runner Boris Berian and tennis superstar champion Milos Raonic.

Every piece is accompanied by a voice-overs of the chosen athlete reading a revealing and motivational letter to their younger selves. Chris Davis, New Balance vice president of global marketing says “At New Balance, our marketing is a reflection of our values, so we created the ‘Letters to My Future Self’ campaign to showcase the true individuality, grit and unparalleled persona of our world class athletes."

The edits are well paced, creatively shot ads, that don't just portray the skills and abilities of the athletes but also offer some backdrop to their hometown and insight to their lifestyles and daily routines. These stirring and engaging visuals depict just how far they have all come and also the advice that they would give to their younger selves and to us.
