Agency to develop strategic and creative marketing campaigns for next year’s NBA 2K19 release

NBA 2K Names BSSP Agency of Record

NBA video game simulation series NBA 2K has awarded its integrated marketing account to Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners following an agency review.

BSSP will be tasked with developing the strategic vision and creative execution of marketing campaigns behind next year’s NBA 2K19 release. The cross-channel campaign will include television, digital content, partnerships and point of sale for both the console and mobile versions of the game.

“We chose BSSP for their ability to deliver concepts beyond advertising that drive consumer awareness and resonate with the NBA lifestyle,” explained Alfie Brody, VP of Marketing for NBA 2K. “The agency showed an innovative way of thinking about our brand that leverages our existing equities as well as expanding into opportunities that go beyond traditional marketing.”

New work for NBA 2K will launch in Spring 2018. NBA 2K has become known for offering the most authentic and deep sports simulation available on any gaming platform. They are industry leaders in player modelling and likeness, and continue to innovate the sports gaming category.

“NBA 2K is world-class gaming franchise, emerging as a brand with cultural connectivity,” noted Tom Coates, ECD at BSSP. “They value creativity and work that is interesting and memorable. We are excited to be on their team.”
