Rachel will retain her position as Director of Hookline

Native – the music supervision and composition arm of Soho-based audio facility, Jungle – has announced the appointment of Rachel Menzies.

Menzies, who has over 10 years’ experience working within the music publishing space, will be tasked with business development and music supervision duties.

Dan Neale, Creative Director at Native, says: “Rachel has the perfect and rare combination of skills that make her a logical addition to our team. Her in-depth knowledge of music rights issues, musical genres and how to take a brief properly are second to none, and we’re really looking forward to working with her.”

Rachel began her career at West One Music, where she played a pivotal role in growing the company into one of the biggest independent production music companies in the world. She spent a decade mentoring and managing sales teams in the UK and Europe, working closely with creatives from global broadcast, film, gaming and radio industries to drive music placement in their productions.

Rachel has worked regularly with clients including the BBC, BSkyB, Discovery Channel, Fox, Disney and MTV as well as brands such as Coca-Cola, Heineken, Volkswagen, Amazon, British Airways, Ferrari, BP, Starbucks and Heathrow Express and has placed music in productions such as Game of Thrones, Top Gear, Doctor Who, The X Factor and Family Guy.

In 2013, she was hired to take on the role of Director of Sales & Business Development at Musicmetric (part of the Semetric Group), helping to accelerate global expansion into music, games, books, TV, films and other verticals. She has been consulting since 2014 and will retain her position as Director of Hookline, where her ear for new talent and extensive network of clients has proved key to the success of the company, which places independent artist’s music in media productions.

Commenting on her appointment, Rachel Menzies says: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining Native – I’ve been hugely impressed by the company’s achievements since launch and look forward to working with the team to help drive new business and deliver creative and innovative solutions for our clients.”

Native has recently provided music supervision and composition services for a wide range of brands and organisations, including M&S Food, M&S Fashion, M&S Christmas, Vodafone, Pets at Home, Land Rover, Oxfam, Lloyds Bank, Durex, Fiat 500, Honda and the BBC.
