NABS Raises Funds with Bid on Adlander’s Courageous Masterpiece

NABS, the support organisation for advertising and media, is giving people the chance to bid on an original artwork while raising funds for its vital work. NABS’ Virtual Art Auction will take place on 24th September 2020, with all proceeds going directly to help people in need across the industry.

People across adland have been submitting their artwork for sale, resulting in more than 100 original pieces up for grabs on the silent auction site. 

A diverse range of work is on display, including work by Mark Denton and Charlotte Dyce; with additional pieces by industry great Sir John Hegarty appearing at the online event on 24th September.

The theme of the art auction is courage, in honour of the resilience and empathy displayed by the industry during the pandemic.

Kate Harris, regional director of NABS who runs the event, says: “The quality of work we’ve received has been fantastic. Our industry has risen to the challenge with creativity and courage, and I thank them for their time and hard work in doing so. It’s now time for us all to come to the auction and bid on these wonderful pieces to raise much-needed funds for NABS’ vital work.”

The auction comes at a critical time for the advertising industry. Calls to NABS' Advice Line have already increased by 25% from last year, and calls about redundancy have more than doubled. The event is organised with the support of the NABS Scotland Committee and hosted by Mark Gorman, chair of the NABS Scotland Committee. It is sponsored by News Scotland.
