If you work in advertising or media and play or enjoy watching rugby, NABS would like to invite you to the 51st annual NABS Rugby 7s tournament.
Taking place at Richmond Athletic Grounds on Sunday 28th April it’s a fantastic day out for players and the colleagues, friends and families who turn out to support them. It’s also become an industry tradition that’s built up a huge fan base in the 50 plus years that it has been running.
The tournament will see companies from across the industry go head to head in a Rugby 7s tournament. Teams already registered so far include: MediaCom, Channel 4, AMV BBDO and last year’s trophy champions Sky Media and runners up Yahoo.
The day will begin with a group stage in the morning before teams are split into separate knock-out tournaments in the afternoon. Teams who finish bottom will be entered into the bowl tournament. Second and third will contest for the plate, and top placed teams will battle it out for the trophy.
On the day there will also be a raffle with prizes including VIP tickets to the Marriot London Sevens final, a Global Radio studio tour, tickets to the Wireless Festival and free Empire Cinema tickets. There may even be a pro player or two making appearances throughout the day.
Zoë Osmond, chief executive officer, NABS said: “The NABS Rugby 7s is a fantastic tradition and as NABS celebrates its 100th year, it's amazing to see this staple calendar event still going strong over 50 years since the first game was played in support of our industry.”
Not only is it a great occasion to get like-minded sport fanatics from the industry to indulge in some healthy competition; it’s also a great way to generate funding for NABS, allowing us to continue our great work in supporting the advertising community. It also provides a great day out for spectators to come and enjoy some quality rugby in the sun!”
Entrance to the ground is five pounds for spectators and free for Partner Card holders and players. On the day there will food and refreshment and plenty of fun to be had.
