The Immortal Awards juror and HorizonFCB Dubai ECD on what is recognised by many as one of the greatest ads of all time

There are less than two weeks to go until this year's Immortal Awards deadline. In the build up to the Friday 10th September cut off, our jurors have been taking it in turns to select the ads and campaigns that are most immortal to them, revealing the reasons why they've stayed with them until this day.

Rodrigo Rodrigues, executive creative director of HorizonFCB Dubai, takes the hot seat today and opts for true advertising royalty from the crew at AMV. Last year, we caught up with the spot's creator Walt Campbell and Immortal Awards juror Jose Miguel Sokoloff to get the story behind an ad that's often referenced as one of the greatest ever.

The deadline for this year's Immortal Awards is Friday 10th September. More information on how to enter can be found at the bottom of the article.

Guinness 'Surfer' (1999)

Guinness' Surfer is my choice for the My Most Immortal Ad for sixty reasons.

Sixty seconds where each detail on it can teach us something.

It’s raw, real, and so finely crafted; from the narrator to the music, every scene, every effect, every paused moment, everything is there.
