The Immortal Awards juror and BIG KAHUNA FILMS founder and CEO selects a Wieden+Kennedy campaign that leverages the power of sport to move the world
With just a few weeks to go until this year's Immortal Awards deadline, our jurors have been taking it in turns to select the ads and campaigns that are most immortal to them, revealing the reasons why they've stayed with them until this day.

Eddy Rizk, founder and chief executive officer of BIG KAHUNA FILMS, looks to the recent past in a Nike campaign that challenged the world to dream crazy...

The deadline for this year's Immortal Awards is Friday 10th September. More information on how to enter can be found at the bottom of the article.

Nike 'Dream Crazy' (2018)

It’s a tough one…

There are great campaigns throughout history, and it’s true an immortal campaign can be from any time, but with what the world is going through and how we are progressing, my choice of an immortal ad has to move people.

In a time where the whole new generation is obsessed by social media, living a life behind the screen, having idols who represent nothing but numbers of followers, I think this ad, with its climax of Colin Kaepernick delivering the message with what he stands for, “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything”, shows the importance of communicating your values, providing hope and a voice for those that aren’t being heard.

The way that Nike leverages the power of sport to move the world and proves that no matter where you’re from, or the challenges you may face, crazy dreams are there to be fulfilled.

We live in an era where not only dreams are not crazy enough, they barely exist. And when I look at an advert, if it doesn’t touch a life, it doesn’t tickle me.
