Carolina Cruz-Letelier and Joel Kaplan promoted to partners after years of contribution to the business

San Francisco-based ad agency MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER is proud to announce the promotions of director of client services Carolina Cruz-Letelier and executive creative director Joel Kaplan to partner status. These partner promotions recognise Kaplan and Cruz-Letelier’s long-standing loyalty and years of service to the agency. The duo has served as key players in MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER’s growth in recent years, helping the agency continue to deliver great creative and strategy, while maintaining its weird-in-all-the-best-ways culture.

John Matejczyk, co-founder and chief creative officer, expressed: “Carolina and Joel have been massive contributors to our agency’s growth and evolution. They bring not just stellar creative and strategy chops to all that they do but inspire our teams to be better and instil love and trust in our client relationships. MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER wouldn’t be the agency it is today without them, and we’re proud to recognise them for their contributions through this partner announcement.”

Cruz-Letelier grew up at MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER, starting out as an account manager in 2011 after holding a position at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, working on brand clients like Chevrolet and Denny’s. Her first few years at M/H were spent winning business and developing relationships with Gallo, Audi, Netflix, and the Golden State Warriors. Over the past few years, Cruz-Letelier touched every client account that came through M/H’s doors (or today, Zoom rooms), and she will continue this laser-focus on building client relationships and leading business as a partner.

Kaplan has had a less traditional journey to this partner promotion, working as a cook, construction worker, accountant, teacher, and sound engineer prior to advertising when he worked at CP+B before joining MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER as a creative director in 2015. Over his tenure, he has helped acquire and lead some of MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER’s biggest accounts including Audi, Netflix, Staples, and Intel, earning industry recognition at the One Show, Clios, ADC, and Webbys. As partner, Kaplan will continue to lead several key accounts, bringing his creative ingenuity to the agency’s growing list of brand partners.

"Joel and Carolina’s promotions to partner acknowledge the significant impact they have both made to the agency over the years and the continued importance they play on our leadership team. As we engage in more long-term, strategic client engagements as the year continues, having Joel and Carolina on the leadership team to oversee our agency’s evolution will be invaluable." says Matt Hofherr, co-founder and chief strategy officer at MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER.
