To launch ‘Kenny’ the new mascot for Cushelle, Director at MPC Creative, Diarmid Harrison-Murray joins forces with Publicis, to evolve the cuddly-soft, yet mischievous Koala.
In this fully CG ad created by MPC Creative and Publicis London, we see that Kenny will do just about anything to get his paws on Cushelle…Pretending to be lost to the unsuspecting truck driver, stealing his truck full of Cushelle and rounding-off with Kenny napping in a hammock made from soft paper. The ad aims to encourage young families to actively choose the brand over others and the campaign will evolve throughout the year featuring Kenny the Koala’s adventures.
Director Diarmid Harrison-Murray explains, “I wanted to give everything a really tactile quality…you should feel the urge to reach out and touch Kenny’s fur.” Diarmid goes on to say, “It was a joy to work on this project. It was a true collaboration with the team at Publicis creating a new look and world for Cushelle...and the artists at MPC, were all total ninjas! They made it look easy."
MPC’s first class proprietary software tool ‘Furtility,’ most recently used to create the photo-realistic creatures in Jon Favreau’s ‘The Jungle Book’ was used to create Kenny’s beautifully soft fur.
Kenny and his world are the result of a close collaborative relationship between the client SCA, MPC and Publicis. Nicola Coronado, Director of Marketing UK and Ireland, SCA said: "This year, we decided to make Kenny the hero of our new Cushelle TV ad. He is adored by families and does a fantastic job in helping us tell the unique story of how Cushelle is made. With the support of a great team at Publicis, together we have made an entertaining and engaging campaign, breaking the norms in what is seen as a commodity category. We are very excited about this campaign and are confident it will do great things for Cushelle this year."
