Motherland's Tara O'Callaghan Achieves Double Win at Young Director Awards in Cannes

Director Tara O'Callaghan, renowned for her outstanding work on the critically acclaimed film 'Call Me Mommy,' has secured two wins at the prestigious Young Director awards in Cannes. O'Callaghan was honoured with both a highly coveted gold award as well as the Special Jury award.

The Young Directors awards celebrate the exceptional talent and visionary achievements of emerging directors from around the world. Tara's double win not only exemplifies her mastery of filmmaking but also underscores her ability to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impact.

The accolades were given to O'Callaghan in recognition of her exceptional work on 'Call Me Mommy.' Having premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, the documentary drew widespread acclaim for its poignant storytelling and remarkable portrayal of the complexities of modern motherhood. The film's resounding success began at the 2022 Galway Film Fleadh, where it secured the Best Short Documentary award.
