Senior creatives join the office from Mother London and TBWA/CHIAT/DAY
In a continuing effort to develop its growing Los Angeles office, Mother has welcomed four new creatives to its West Coast flock. Pilar Peace joins Mother in Los Angeles from Mother London as head of art. Andrew Livingston and Simon Bruyn, both creative directors, join Mother in LA from TBWA\Chiat\Day. Chris Vernon, also previously with Mother London, joins the team as a writer and director. The news comes off the recent announcement that Mother in LA will serve as AOR for Sonic Drive-In.

"It marks a special moment in our growth when you have people who join from both within the Mother family and from other agencies,” said Joe Staples, ECD and partner, Mother LA. “Mother London has been doing some really lovely work recently, and to have Pilar and Chris join is a joy. Their creative standard and ambition, as well as their ebullience, is an absolute pleasure. Simon and Andrew have been crucial in driving all of our new work with Postmates, and it's simply nice to see them both when you come to work in the morning. Four humble people who want to make nothing less than the best work - it's a great combination and we’re excited to take our next steps together as an office."

As head of art, Pilar will be responsible for raising the high level of standard for art direction at Mother LA. Her work will span the agency’s client roster including Sonic, Postmates, Propel, Snapbac and others. While at Mother London, Pilar was behind the agency’s Cannes Lion, D&AD, and Andy Award-winning work including IKEA’s T-Shirts and KFC’s seminal apology, FCK. Her move follows Mother US’ cheeky offering of all employees of Mother London a job, after their multiple Agency of the Year wins.

The ability for talent to move between offices is one of the many benefits of working with an independent global network. Both Pilar Peace and Chris Vernon are prime examples of this unique opportunity. Before arriving at Mother in LA, Chris Vernon spent seven years at Mother London, where he worked with clients such as Stella Artois, No. 7, Chipotle, and Debenhams. Chris has also produced films that have premiered at Sundance Film Festival.

Andrew Livingston and Simon Bruyn join the family from previous stints at TBWA\Chiat\Day and Goodby Silverstein & Partners where they worked with clients such as Nissan, NBA, Adobe and Stubhub. The pair first met back in Toronto while both working at John St. Advertising where they dreamed of one day being featured in an American trade publication.
